Dasnagar Govt. Polytechnic has started its journey from the year 2022. It is located at Dasnagar, Howrah which is just about 800 m away from Dasnagar Railway Station, 35.3 km from Howrah Railway Station and also 7.7 Km away from Vidyasagar setu. It is well connected with important places Kolkata and Howrah by both train and bus. Dasnagar Govt. Polytechnic offers three day time Diploma in Engineering Courses such as Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering and Diploma in Information Technology. The Institute has been established keeping in the vision that it could provide quality diploma level engineering education to common eligible students so that they can apply their knowledge and skill for building our state so also our country. It is 3rd Govt. Polytechnic College in the District Howrah. The Institute is the 2nd such College which is offering Diploma in Information Technology. Though Dasnagar Govt. Polytechnic is younger in age but possesses strong determination and courage for fulfilling its vision in coming days.

Engineering education in diploma level is facing steep challenge day by day with the rapid changing scenario regarding changing demand of consumers. Multidisciplinary skill is very much acceptable in modern industry. Different national and international bodies are ready to measure different performance criteria of individuals, teachers and institutions and ultimately certified them if they can perform upto the bench mark. Unless and until they got accredited by such bodied survival for any of the component is difficult. A lot of radical changes occurred in curriculum, assessing criteria, attitude and also the vision. All components of Polytechnic institution, especially for the newer one, should have determination and courage for their survival. I personally believe about the capabilities of all individuals concern with Polytechnic Institutions and they will prove themselves in coming future.
